Agrotis segetumDenis and Schiffermaller is commonly known as the turnip moth and causes considerable damage to crops and vegetables in Europe, Asia, and Africa (Lv et al. 2006, Esbjerg and Sigsgaard 2014, Lemic et al. 2016, Nowinszky et al. 2017). Agrotis segetum occurs in open places and prefers only partly vegetated, warm and more dry sites such as fields, embankments, patches in gardens, sand pits or gappy grasslands. In La Palma I observed larvae in the dry southwest of the island in gappy stocks of annual plant species.
